Yay for crochet!
I have recently learnt how to crochet. I began with a scarfe, but it was boring, so I unravelled it.
I then made a chunky granny square blanket and uber cute little hat for my friends baby (which currently resides in her tum tum) I didn’t take pics, as they were a present, so we’ll have to wait a few months for baby’s arrival until I get photos to show!
So here is the only photo of my crochet that I have. It’s not amazing (the photo or the square) but I’m chuffed that I’ve learnt how to crochet haha
All I need to do now is learn how to understand crochet patterns, it seems to be a whoooole different language to knitting patterns and so far I’ve only been able to understand video tutorials! haha.
New odds and ends hat…It no fit!
This is my new scrappy hat, I’ve used the pattern before, it worked fine. This time it’s just a bit too small for some reason. It looks more like a bonnet on my big head, the otherone I made looked like a hood type hat. I don’t really want to unravel it.
If anyone has a smallish head, or a child and would like it, I shall pop it in the post for you, drop me an email kate.s.knight@googlemail.com UK only por favor, it all gets a bit pricey posting further afield!
ps. Do you like my grumpy ‘hat doesn’t fit’ face?
Mitten-ey goodness!
I am such a dpn goddess!
I ‘ve just finished these flip top mittens, perfectly timed for going back to work tomorrow. And I used double pointed needles. I’m so proud of me, haha.
I uber love the colour and they fit like, well, a well fitted glove!
I’m glad I’ve had time recently to get a load of projects finished. More to come!
I have taught myself ho to crochet (with the help youtube - thanks internet!)
I’m lacking photos for the blog as I’ve been taking them with my camerphone, which, while the quality looks amaze on the phone screen - they appear as faded pieces of pixel crap on an actual laptop!
So I’m going to have a snap sesh with my camera soon, but I miss you all, so I’m updating you using the power of words until then!
I’ve started Christmas crafting for this year, with 6 things on the knit gift list and two projects for myself.
At the moment I’m just about to finish a crochet scarfe to go with a hat and fingerless mittens in the same patterned yarn and knitting a top down seamless cardigan - I’m not overly pleased with the jumper I made last year, particularly the neckhole and seams, so I’m thinking this cardigan pattern may be soooo much more successful.
Anyway, I’m supposed to be editing photographs for work, toodle pip!
I’ve been veeeeery quiet this year so far.
To be honest, it’s not really the season for hats, so I’ve not picked up sticks as often as I do in the winter.
I’m working on a few projects at the moment, the biggest of which being an offcuts throw. It’s a light throw to go over my legs when I’m at my desk in my room during the evenings. It should be done in a few weeks, so I’ll be sure to post a photo!
I’ve also finshed my first jumper!
The shoulders are a bit squared and pointy, but I’ve done a little nip tuck fix with some uber cute buttons with butterflies on that I’ve been waiting ages to use.
It’s a spring type knit, but I’m sure in this English weather, it’ll still be used all through the summer evenings!
Oh, and the hat is newishly knitted too - scraps galore!
That’s all for now :)
A present for the fellas gmom.
I have knitted my first shawl. Used 7mm needles and a ball of lavendar yarn I’ve been saving for something pretty. I found this surprisingly easy, I always thought shawls were very complicated.
I gave it to my fellas grandmother for christmas with a little festive brooch to keep it into place. She loved it and I loved making it!
Christmas scarfe!
Knitted so I could feel that little bit more christmassy (and I dont need that much encouragement) this was my december 2010 scarfe. Extra thick , knitted with two strands of yarn at the same time (both 100% acrylic, I’m a cheap and chearful knitter)
This will probably stay under the bed until next December now!
Two pics of the scarfe (cowl?) I made aaaaaaall the way in november. I knitted this scarfe and fingerless mitten set for a trip to london I was taking with my two fave girly mates from uni.
I love how it came out (love that it all only took 4 days to knit) and the girls loved it (I aim to please).
I think once I;ve gotten rid of the last ball of green I have, that might be it for a while, half of everything I’ve ever knit seems to have some sort of green in it lol
A pretty tree ona grey cardigan.
Had a bit of a stitch using some greeny yellowey colour change thread my mom spotted at the charity shop, I full sized reel (or whatever you call thread)
just lightly drew the design onto the cardy, had a bit of a stitch while watching planet 51 and voila!
I finished it ages ago, and now i’s finally being blogged!
